High Res Shot

High-resolution imaging with reduced noise

A feature that delivers exceptional resolution and low noise in a compact camera.
By compositing multiple images, it increases the effective pixel count while reducing noise by approximately two stops.

01

Tripod High Res Shot

The sensor is shifted in 0.5-pixel increments as eight images are captured and composited to generate an approximately 80-megapixel high-resolution image (RAW/JPEG).

* 80-megapixel JPEG output is supported by selected models only.

02

Handheld High Res Shot

Twelve images are captured and composited to generate an approximately 50-megapixel high-resolution image (RAW/JPEG).
Because no tripod is required, the feature can be used easily while traveling or hiking.
It is also useful at locations where tripods are prohibited.

With the freedom of handheld shooting, you can easily explore more flexible angles while adding finer detail and reduced noise to your images.

03

The first image is saved

Although multiple images are composited, the first frame is retained even if compositing fails because of unexpected camera shake or subject movement.
